'The Shed' - The People - The Philosophy

19 years ago, Gary Vaughan and Dale Hall created a ski hire business - Snowy Mountains Skis - that prioritized the provision of great equipment at exceptional value for skiers.

Gary and Dale's philosophy of happily catering to each customer's individual needs quickly gained them a large following of devoted customers. These loyal fans also coined a nickname for the business, simply calling it 'The Shed'. 

 

Today, the only thing that has changed is the partnership, with Dale now pursuing other interests whilst Gary continues to run the business in Jindabyne.

In 2007 Gary formed a partnership with Dave Morris, a PE teacher from Sydney's Northern Beaches. Dave and Gary saw a market for discounted retail skis and established their 'Skis for Sale' link on this website. In keeping with The Shed tradition of customer service Dave offers online (and pick up) retail sales/service from Sydney.

Thousands of skiers and boarders visit "The Shed" each season to rent their equipment, have their skis and boards fine-tuned or just check up on the latest snow news. On any day, you will find Gary out on the floor helping his staff provide customers with that personalised attention that has become the mainstay of his business.

In 2009 we welcome back our long term staff Phil, Lance and Justin. Also aboard for the 09 season are Jack, Brooke, Michael, Adam and Mark. Between our staff there is over 120 years of skiing and snowboard experience, from a vast array of places around the globe.
